MCCI Business School is proud to shine a spotlight on two of its students, Lorna VILAR and Moufadal Houssen SABIRALY, who represented Mauritius at the regional finals of the Inter-University French Debate Tournament (TIUD), organised by the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF).
This 11th edition, held in Madagascar, brought together students from Southern Africa and the Indian Ocean to debate on a vital theme: âInclusion, diversity: letâs talk about it!â
After winning the national tournament in Mauritius, Lorna and Moufadal proudly represented our school against teams from six different countries. Their ability to argue with clarity, passion, and intelligence earned them a spot in the regional final, where they faced off against the team from Angola. The result: an outstanding 2nd place, applauded for the strength of their arguments and their eloquence in the art of debating.
Beyond the competition, this tournament was a true intellectual and human experience: exchanging ideas, listening to others, and learning how to persuade with both conviction and respect. These are key skills we value deeply in our educational approach.
We are incredibly proud of their journey and achievement! Their participation in this tournament perfectly reflects our commitment to encouraging students to speak with confidence, think critically, and embrace the values of dialogue and diversity.
